Producer first and DJ made along the way, Rodrigo Pinheiro, known as Madd Rod, is a self-taught artist who has spent the past decade shaping a sound that moves between nostalgia and experimentation. Now based in Berlin, he runs Inner Shah Recordings, a home for artists and ideas that favour raw edges, mood-driven electronics, and genre fluidity.
Originally from Lisbon, he began releasing music independently, building collaborations and momentum that led to his debut album Dystopian Desert (2020). The project opened new doors, including a place on the Discotexas roster in 2021, where he refined his craft and widened his reach within the scene.
After relocating to Berlin in 2022, he developed the retrofuturistic voice that defined his second album Sad Behaviour (2023), a work shaped by punk energy, intimacy, and memory. A short period in Portugal followed, where he reconnected with the club circuit, developed his event series Panthera, and released Sad Behaviour: Expanded Edition (2024) with four new singles.
Alongside his albums, Madd Rod has built a distinctive catalogue. Highlights include Tropicalismo Dark with Noporn on Inner Shah, After The World Collapsed on NEIN Records, Mind Invasion on Volition, Jumping Jacks on Get Physical, and official remixes for Xinobi, Night in Athens, BURAK SIS, Jup do Bairro, Dole & Kom and NECRØ.
His third studio album, In Constant Evolution, is out now on Inner Shah Recordings. Guided by instinct and sequencing, it moves between EBM tension, Indie Dance momentum, and introspective drift. Retro, raw, and relentless, his sound sets the pulse for the next movement.
